Developing a strong number sense in kindergarten lays the groundwork for all future mathematical learning. This early stage of math work is crucial because it builds confidence in dealing with numbers and fosters a positive attitude toward mathematics. Strong number sense skills enable children to solve problems more effectively and think critically as they progress through school. Moreover, early mathematical skills can predict overall academic success, making the cultivation of these skills a priority in kindergarten and early education.

Amazing ways to develop number sense ten frame Teach Magically

Of course, an amazing way to develop number sense is by using a ten frame. Ten frames help kiddos see numbers in groups. I created this cute ten frame easily with a few simple supplies. It’s perfect to use as a model for a classroom lesson for subitizing or number talks.

Supplies for Number Sense Ten Frame:

  •  AC Moore– magnet tape and Modge Podge
  • Dollar Store-sparkly tape
  • Dollar Tree Stores, Inc:
    Cookie Pan
    Luster Gems Mixed
    stickers (2 colors)

I did coat with Modge Podge to help everything stick.
